Good morning to all.. .
Domandona.. How do I import a sketchup file and be able to work on it? ? .
I tried with stl and obj.. I see them, rough, but I can't do anything!. not even solid from faces!!!. .
is there a preferential format to import data to think3 2011.1?? . I should start from the faces and make solid implodes, add thickness and turn it into sheet metal for the development in floor.. :frown:
Thanks to those who will help me.

That's because thinkdesign matters the stl format like mesh, and it can't handle them.
in thinkdesign if I don't remember there's a license that allows you to enable advanced commands that can convert triangles to surfaces, and at this point the game is made :) ask the customercare for sure they will know how to give you information + precise ..

to import and then change geometry, you can use the steps or iges that are the standard formats supported

soon,
Matteo

Thank you!
for now in yesterday afternoon I solved like this:

- export to stl.
- import into rhinocerous
- command use _meshtonurbs
- export to iges
- import into thinkdesign
- Solid creation with solid implodes with option simplifies faces.

at this point everything works!
Thanks for the tip!
