until the official presentation (a little before the release date) there is only marketing material.
what's news is 531 pages.
Anyway... just for the modeling:
- new feature to import points (points clouds)
- the context toolbar
- fit excluding datums
- see-through during editing features
- new 3d dome environment for dynamic rendering
- extremum point (find the most extreme point of an object)
- selection intent in measures
- concept of "less" and "more" in the user interface of the various commands
- in sketches the vertices are visualized with pallets
- sketch constraint clearly indicated next to the geometries
- improvement in over-constrained geometries management
- management of fittings that eat faces in the st
- possibility to use the delete face on the fittings in the st
- part module (modularization of design. a new concept in nx)
- emboss body (introduction of functional features in nx. exceptional for plastic objects)
- join with region selection (finally! )
- completion of new patterns
- isolated object of feature (serve to automatically select output of a certain feature)
- delete body
- assign object color to a feature
- new global shaping
- new helix function
- "positive" holes
- traditional (timestamp) or floating feature groups

there are 3 functions already present in nx 8.
1)part module (modularization of design. a new concept in nx), present from nx8.01
2)completion of new patterns, available from 8.0.2 with environment variable (siemens error) or without environment variable from 8.0.3.x (currently withdrawn)

nx8.0.3 is available today. was placed on the site ftp of the gtac.

windows 64-bit, linux 64-bit and mac os images of nx 8.0.0.

Yes, it has a specific application called steelwork and which is part of the mechanical routing family.
it is not his specialty: in the sense that if you have to do occasionally a tubular frame is fine, but if your job is specifically that I recommend you other solutions unless you want to spend time in making you some macros and configurations.

the specific structural verification of the frames there is... nx standard codes are used (nastran).
you should make a "parallele" between these codes and the solution that gives you nx/nastran.

ps: This is not the right place for these questions... we talk about nx8.5.
Maybe open a specific topic... The subject is interesting. . multibody, structural checks, part list, etc.

I downloaded nx8.5,
installation fails giving the message that there is a invalid character in the nx/proe path. to capture the image of the message in English, and then send it to gtac, I put the settings of theinstallshield in English and.... everything works:

I installed just out of 8.5 because I had a job in which the new delete face happened to fagiuolo :finger:

I didn't take long to set up the interface because I was in a hurry. But now I realize that the commands I had pulled out (e.g. measure angle and sweep along guides) do not remain on the bar as it did before. Is there any new set up to store icon bars?

impossible that before you remained toolbar settings if not set in the nozzle_env.dat, as the settings are stored in the user.mtx present in the folder with the name of the nx version (nx7,nx75,nx8,nx85,etc.).

when you start any installation starts a program called install shield and in which you can choose the installation language (see attached image).
I hope I've been clear.
