multiple selection

Hi, I tried to read the other discussions but apparently no one had my problem.
in practice when selecting with crossin multiple objects, (e.g. 15) and I want to uncheck 4 objects by crossing, I deselect only 1 object at a time of its liking.
Can anyone tell me how to solve this? I raised a jpeg of how I set the selection from options, although I think it depends on some variable.

try to check "use shift to add to selection" (pickadd=0) and check if you do what you want.
