What, according to you, is the best cad program for the design of machine tools?
What is the most widespread and required in the field of work (in this sector)

thanks for the informationthe main:
- No.

- solidworks
- solidedge
- inventor
- Catia
all are fine and everyone can boast many references in the field.
then here it triggers a quite complex speech that, however, exulates a bit from the instrument and goes to vent in the type and sophisticated design that you do.
if the company of m.u. always starts from an existing machine and does not make innovation, but is limited to a sterile adaptation of old solutions, then they really are all good.
If, instead, the company does a real design of the m.u. going to innovate, then, imho, things change a lot.
what does "innovate" mean in 2014?
means, in my opinion, so many things, that I list you, a little bit in bulk:
- means designing mechanics, electronics and software integratedly
- means to immediately give the plc the logic of operation of m.u.
- means simulating the operation of the "machine tool" (mechanical, electronic and software) before building it
- means designing the structure using the cae to optimize weights and shapes
- means implementing a digital mockup process to check the design progress at any time by putting together the various modules
- means to design m.u modularly.
- means to give commercials that will sell m.u. a tool to configure it and propose to customers the solution cut out for them (now the "standard" machines no longer exist)
- means deleting the 2d and going on a 3d annotated description (so gd&t, pmi, etc)
- means thinking about the documentation of m.u. integratedly
- means designing the m.u. (as I described above) starting from the customer's internal and external requirements
- means immediately think of the mro (maintenance repair and overhaul) part of m.u. so that the service can then work on the planned maintenance in an integrated way and it is not something "that comes after".
- means to think that to your customer as well as to provide a "machine tool" you can provide a "solution" (for example m.u. + integrated cam + post processor)
Here... if the "design" is this second hypothesis, then of tools able to support a company that makes true "innovation" there are not many.
but hi squizero of my boots! :wink:like you're scissor...
sembri... :biggrin:but hi squizero of my boots!
Have you seen? Do I look like someone who knows?
