Hello everyone, I write to ask you an opinion on the choice of a software to make the models of my master's thesis.
Therefore, the theme is the retrofit of an existing building, so in addition to recreating the building in the state of fact I have to change it, especially in the envelope, using technological elements of various nature (which I will have to show also in the details).
My base for 2d drawings is autocad, and until now I used sketchup for 3ds. I wanted to speed everything up. I know, at the basic level, revit, having supported a modeling examination on that software, but I wondered how fast it could be in the modeling of new elements or in the reproduction of "packages" of building technologies such as coats, ventilated walls with external surface in metal, etc.
I considered autocad architecture, I saw that while not being a bim can run models starting from plants using parametric elements. the choice was therefore between these two software. I would also remain in autodesk because of student licenses on each of their software.
thanks to all for attention and advice!
