if you use the dwg you can also open it from autocad, obviously only for consultation. Sometimes it can be convenient.

idw format is native to inventor. then the autodesk in his desire to unify and make uniform strongly supported the dwg format in inventor. until some have made such format had limits regarding idw, but I do not remember.

the difference is that the dwg format as known can also open it with normal cad 2d, making the puts on the table in this way is useful in u.t. where there is staff working only with two-dimensional tools and not with inventor. but this goes to the expense of the memory of the computer/server, in fact you will notice a difference of weight between the two formats not indifferent :finger:
