I've been going on a lot lately to find companies that use unto date software.

both talking about inventor and other software, I found companies with versions 2012 for example, other even older.

I wonder why a company decides not to keep an important work tool up to date, especially since we do not talk about high figures for renewals.

What do you think?
and what do you think of a company that adopts this policy?

because not all companies believe in the importance of keeping their software up to date. in the last company where I worked was used inventor 2011 even craccato!

that the costs are low you think, but instead each company can get different convictions. to me sincerely seems a very careful and oculated point of view. I'll tell you that in companies where I go, I'll almost never find the latest version of the software, even because being behind the updates is a loose cannon on productivity.

if the software doesn't have big bugs, if the company doesn't exchange a lot of data with the outside so it can care about the compatibility with the last dwg, if they have a composing person inside, for what purpose to update?

if you renew every year is not that there are such upheavals to compromise productivity.
different is if you renew it every x years.

for the price speech for what I have verified we talk about about 1/8 of the amount you spend on buying the license.
Let each tear different conditions, let's get to 1/5?
Is it worth it?
much depends, always in my opinion, on who uses it. if it is one of those designers who have an associate method of work and are not willing to change it then perhaps your speech is worth, I personally always evaluate the new functions and in case use.
very often this has brought improvements, you want for spare time you want for improvement of work.

consider having the function that automatically pulls out the dxf for the oxytaglio, or the management that extracts the distinct, or any other macro tested and working. really once a year do you want to remake all tests and possibly re-up or rewrite macros? ? ?

Better zero than 1/5 or 1/8, right?

I guess you're right.

I do not agree on the price speech, sooner or later you go to buy the license because it is too obsolete, at that point you spend in a blow perhaps more than you would have spent in 4/5 years.

where they are now used 2014, the one before had 2009......... .

personally if I'm working on versions before 2010 I get hives.... from 2010 onwards, for the types of pieces I have to do, I don't really change anything.

for small companies the figure is not recently, and the concept makes strangely turn the assholes having to pay a subscription after spending on the program.

in the end the choices are 3...
1-I spend a thousand hards to update the program that almost always brings only to those who use it for a week and then nothing changes.
2-I use those thousand heuries to invest them in something that really serves the company.
3-I have a thousand euri in my pocket

Who, how, when?... to me a thousand hards are not enough, it takes 1400, and they are not few.
that the company is small or large are 1400 euros to post, so the price per capita to me does not seem irrisorio, I pay it once a year and I leave once a year on various customizations, because I like to be updated, but 1400 euros weigh. . .

1400? pessimismo&fastidio, I remembered a figure around the thousand, but I never followed the licenses in the office and it is a few years that I do not feel blasphemy who manages them since after 2014 I have seen nothing
