Hello everyone.. .

in "link" to this discussion https://www.cad3d.it/forum1/threads/passare-da-solidworks-a-inventor.52553/I would like to know if with inventor there is the possibility to create holes with external references in the parts but in the context (as illustrated above) but dependent on external references.

in good substance I would like to know if at the varying of the coupling between the parts also moves the hole as in solidworks (as long as the external references are selected in the part file).

Is it my suspicion or inventor an "external reference" tends to prevail over a mating?

this in solidworks does not seem to happen.

Thank you! ! !

where?
What do you mean by external references? Imported geometry? you can do, come in the part what you need
( sketches, bodies, axes, points etc.) on the other side and then use it to create holes.
if you change the part that you have derived will then also change that "secondary".

Then I didn't understand the "coupling" speech. What do you mean?

by "here" I meant at the link of the old discussion reported in blue.

by "coupling" I mean the relationships that bind (in terms of positioning) two parts in a set.

in solidworks are called couplings, perhaps in inventor they have a different name but the principle should be the same.

the discussion at the link deals with an evaluation on the opportunity to change software, not to use external references.
Let's go further, I think what you're asking does any cad, otherwise it would be a nice tribule to work.
I make an example, so let's see if I understand your need:
I have a plate with a set of threaded holes and I have to draw the mount that should be screwed over.
in the part of the mount comes the sketch that I used to create threaded drilling and use it to create the passing drilling in which to insert the screws.
if I change the positions of the holes of the plate automatically change those of the mount, of course.
together, if I have bound to the axes of the holes, everything will follow accordingly.
as for all cads it is necessary to work with method and logic, then it is only about understanding how one does certain things compared to another. even because we talk about cad of the same band, the differences are not huge. one will be more suitable for a certain type of work, one for another.
as they have already told you in the other discussion change from sw to inventor does not make much sense.
also because at prices are aligned.

Sorry, I posted the wrong link.
the correct one is https://www.cad3d.it/forum1/threads/creazione-guidata-fori-in-assieme.51845/That's what I want to do.

on solidworks in a set the mating constraints of two parts have priority over the so-called external references used in the context for example of a "guided creation holes".

in reality if I have to drill two pieces to join them I must first place the pieces in the right position and last hole. for which the reciprocal position of the two pieces (which block with the cagne) prevails on the tracing of the holes.
in solidworks if I go to change a portion of the position of a hole having an external reference the coupling between the two parts remains unchanged. in the function tree, I'm told of the conflict, but I'm the one who has to intervene to solve it.

I was wondering at this point if inventor is also thinking in terms of "priority of functions".

Thank you.
