modification of solids from complex geometries

Good morning to all,

I happen more and more often the need to have to intervene on the form of solid models (typically provided by the customer in step format), to change its shape and size.
The solids in question are not “simple”, but have external surfaces with multiple curvatures.

with inventor I haven't been able to do all this.
Can someone please tell me if there are any software that can help me?

any 3d modeler... but you have to put yourself there, knowing how to use the software.
I know how to use powershape (which was bought by autodesk) and as an open surface modeler is a bomb
