Good morning, I'm evaluating a refurbished workstation, the seller made available to make a rendering test, someone has a scene that can act as a test for the hardware, which is the following:
2 x cpu intel xeone5-e2690 8 x core - 16x thread every single processor
video card nvidia picture k4200
ram 64gb
ssd 500gb samsung 860evo new
hard disk 1tb 3.5 new
windows 10 pro 64
1 year warranty

thanks to all

test with various bench type cinebench r15 and r20 and then compare the results with other users...in any case two xeon e5-2690 in total are 16 cores and 32 threads a nice overall power.... maybe a machine so deserves a more powerful video card that manages to flank the cpus in phase of rendering cpu+vga (if the software you use supports this option)

the machine I took it, I modified the graphics card with a m4000, but the bench gives me a low score, 80.1, maybe are the settings? ? ?

in specviewperf 12.1 with 3dmax-05 got about 75 fps while p2000 with specviewperf 13 3dmax-06, which technically is the substitute of m4000, gets about 100 fps.
I think the value you get is correct.

hi, I don't know well, however with arnold and iray I don't get very interesting results at timing level, comparable to what I got with an i7 and gtx1060.
Why do you think?

i7 which model? the gtx 1060 of its is very powerful.....about 50% more than the m4000 where it loses is in the niche applications type catia, creo, nx, sw,...etc install the gtx 1060 in the new ws and try it in with the two cpus?

in passmark a cpu
i7-8700 15163 points
i7-8700k 15962
e5-2690 v1 13527
e5-2690 v2 16433
while two cpus
e5-2690 v1 19309
e5-2690 v2 23491
if I didn't get it wrong in your workstation should be equipped with e5-2690 v1 (I excluded v3-v4) then the perfect wedding should get it paired with gtx 1060. Can you do a passmark test on your ws? remember to keep windows energy settings on high performance.https://www.passmark.com/products/performancetest/index.php
