Hello everyone,
I have to implement a cam 5 axes on a lathe multitasking smart turn, and as from title, I am undecided on the two cams that have proposed me.
the price is more or less equal and seen by the demonstrators who have come in company, they both seem valid and userfriendly.
But a advice from those who use it would be appreciated. .

we have evaluated so many software. We tested them with our rather complex pieces (we make molds) many surfaces to copy, holes with many different inclinations.... in the end we chose esprit. as pure cam is what seemed to us simpler and more complete. We still have to take the course, the car will arrive in November. in a few months I will know whether the choice was actually right! I hope I was useful.

Yes, it is a nice program to make cartoons.
video does everything.
the problems, and big, we had them and we still have them, with the post processor that doesn't get one.
at least on our machines, especially on a multitasking lathe.
At the moment, after nine months, we are not sure that if we put a program in the car, we have no collisions or breaks.
I don't know what cars you're gonna use, but be careful, simulation does one thing, and in the car does another.
to tell you a banal:
a series of holes on a flange parallel to the axis.
a video everything ok, in the machine perpendicular to z.
If you distract yourself for a moment, you do serious damage.
I have the feeling that their technicians are unable to develop post processors.
I hope for you to be an isolated case.

thanks for the answers. I should go and use it on a multitasking doosan. the company that sold me the tool machine has proposed me edgecam that I could try and test in the car, I find it a bit slender in the various settings, I have to use two different environments of work (solidworks - edgecam) but I have the certainty that the post functions (more important in absolute). I could try (only on pc) solidcam that I find it more intuitive, same working environment (integrated into solidwork), but I didn't have to test it in the car. espirt cam instead I have not yet had a chance to try it. my greatest fear is just on the post more than on the program for itself, because it is on the post that jump out the biggest problems as confirms me tarkus. I'll still assess well and let you know.

but it is not a joke, trust me.. .
If you do complex things, you may always have some inconsistency between what the simulator does and what the machine does, like false mistakes, or for example interpolations of different puzzles from reality. . .

exact, a simulator like veracut where there is in everything and for all a virtual machine where to turn the program generated from the post and see if the post processor has combined some obsgates.
