Hello everyone,
I am new to the forum and I was looking for advice from someone with experience regarding parametric cad.
I have used for many years autocad in 2d and lately rhino for 3d.
But I was looking for a parametric cad to start designing module models without having to draw them all the time.

I'll explain my request now.

I should make boxes of objects that will be realized after being milled by pieces of pvc.
These boxes will however vary depending on the overall external dimensions and the individual internal boxes that will be composed and which will also vary according to the thickness of the material used.
to make it clear what I'm talking about allego file.
in a few words I would like to parameterize the objects in red so that they vary their size according to the above requirements.

I wanted to know which program you recommend me to do something like this. .modifying only the data entered.
between the various programs I had seen freecad and antimony or are in the wrong direction.

thank you all for the advice.

definitely freecad is able to manage formulas and tables for parameterization even if I have not yet deepened the thing.

it seems to me that to create parametric libraries with freecad you have to use python
simpler use of parametric blocks with autocad
or use boldhopper to create parametric libraries within rhino

Having some experience with autocad I have realized the following parametric blocks of which I attach image that then will be element that will compose my box.

We wanted to know if it was possible in case you decided to set the number of compartments instead of the length with n fixed compartments as it is now.

i.e. the block should create dynamically based on the number of cells/boxes we would like to make that box.

Hello, excuse me for the delay of this answer.
do not need to change sw. if you already use rhino works with the fathopper plugin that will manage to do what you need!... indeed. even you could feed an excel or csv and make sure that fathopper+rhino draw all the boxes in one shot!. In the company we have parametric sw.. but for requests like your I use rhino+grasshopper so as to eliminate repetitive tasks and automate processes.
Good job!

even if it's been a while then I solved it with a nice macro in autocad ... I wanted to post the video but I don't think it's possible. can you publish something or is it forbidden by regulation? :unsures:
