drivers on windows have always made (and still do) the difference...in worse obviously? also regarding other peripherals. . .when someone announces a new audio card they immediately cross their fingers regarding drivers for windows...
Unfortunately I do not like apple policies at all and on my own use more than I can linux, at the most stuffed on windows (obligated for work).
apple makes the goods (functioning) old too quickly making peripherals incompatible with new operating systems, never had and never will have until they continue to make junk something that works. agbogbloshie and company are already full enough.. .

I agree... I am also far from the apple world for both economic reasons and for software and hardware management policies.

I got 3 quotes, dell, lenovo and hp
with configuration more or less similar the price difference between hp and the other two (which are quite aligned) is really much, about 25% less, should I be careful about something?
for example hp uses original nvidia boards (rtx4000) or use cards of other brands only with the picture chip?
Would that make a difference?

all three brands of, hp, lenovo use video cards nvidia picture or amd radeon pro original according to the needs of the customer as you can choose them or via online configurator or through commercial if you know someone.

at the same frequency the i9 is the cpu more powers of the group for the greater number of cores.
specifically what work needs do you have?
with a similar hardware and with a 64gb decacore of ram are a perfect match if you carry out activities that require to load in ram a substantial amount of data while for mere modeling and putting in the table is already well a w-2245. the rtx 4000 is fine but also here you have to understand in which scenario of use you will have to use it.

So I think it's a fact that says little. compared the video card with 2 different processors, one of which is exclusive and optimized for mac so much more difficult to understand. One of the systems has twice the ram of the other. I don't know the test well, but how much do they affect?

for sw I don't know specifically, but if it costs little I would say yes, it's old stuff but made to last. I worked years with xeon, at home working with a ryzen and a gtx1050ti 4gb. I know people who took a z600 home, and they always go like new ones.

for information duty gtx 1660 is not a professional video card and cpu xeon e3 1225 has a maximum frequency of 3.4ghz much lower than 4.5 - 4.6 ghz of the cpu mentioned above.
solidworks also runs on less performing machines than you have indicated and will also work with gtx 1660 and the real view function should be activated by changing a registry key in windows.
