Bye to all,
in the company we are evaluating the purchase of a 3d printer, a pretty small thing as size, from counter to understand.
in choice, what should be evaluated, according to you? in addition to the printing size, of course.

I am already contacting some retailers, if you have suggestions on the various aspects to be evaluated I will take into account when submitting the various models.

if they are design objects and not subject to functional stress tests, you may consider a printer with resin.
have aesthetic details, low cost accuracy, but are not suitable for mechanical stress.
with these printers, you have no object design constraints, what you think.. Realize.
then there are those for storage material .. classic wire coil in pla or abs or nylon and carbon fibers
with this type of printer, though, you are quite bound in the design of your object,
to make it short... you can't print any shape you model because you have to take into account the force of gravity
and finally there are those to deposit of metal powder and melted with laser.
in this case.. print what you want.. but the costs are approaching a 5-axis tool machine.

It could be interesting the resin discourse, I still have to figure out where it would want to go to parare the company but it should be prototyping prints for a dimensional / aesthetic evaluation, mechanical resistance would be influential.

the results obtained have a good resolution/tolerance very small (the goldsmith sector, for example, uses these printers widely), however the prototype is often photosentibile (perhaps depends on the resin used, I don't know) and after a few weeks it is unusable because yellow / sticky

the gravity force, with medium/high quality printers is compensated by support structures created directly by the machine (in the calculation phase of the print file) which then manually remove from the prototype, is not a big bond.
However, it is necessary to consider that there are withdrawals of the material linked to the thermal jump between the press temperature (about 260°-270° to the nozzle) and the temperature of use of the piece (environment), and the kinematics of the machine.
tolerances also depend on the quality of the machine and the materials used, but hardly descend below ±0.15mm.

"laser" machines leave them to service companies: have very high purchasing costs, often require dedicated rooms with air filtration systems and cannot be used quickly: if you have an idea it is not enough to send the file to the machine and wait for it to be printed

They are not really perfect.. and some hand processing should be done

Hey, we got a markforged from us, now it's a couple of years and we're happy with it. They are not economical and they go far beyond the target that seemed to me to understand. But I must say that their consumables are of great quality and range from wires loaded with nylon to carbon fiber, to kevlar. we use it for control glasses, small tools, etc. the print file processes it online and in this way we always use the latest update of slycing.
 
hi, I read the various comments with interest, we also in the company have a lastker s5 with material station and air manager, since we bought it I am doing various tests on the various materials available ultimakers to find what has good mechanical characteristics and "faciility" of print, I am very satisfied with the pieces printed also with technical materials, clearly we want shortcuts with dedicated glue etc. I have posted a video where I explain some of these things on my channel you can view it here:
in this video I tried to restore a double gear for a motor gear and as I had to test the different materials I took this case limit, result they all broke, but I learned a lot, in the end I found a work around to realize the working gear. I am now testing the petg ultimaker, it is true that it is a widely diffused material, but as ultimaker material has been made available recently and I think it is easy to print and have good mechanical skills, in essence I would use it as material for standard prints also for its cost enough content about 35€ to roll against about 31 of the pla which is extremely easy to print but mechanically it is not the maximum. the cost of the printer is around 9k including material station and air manager, but with the various bonuses for industry 4.0 etc you can take it home half the price.

In the past I worked in a company that has a statisys, using a different material for support this was then completely eliminated with the acid bath.

Hello, I was curious too and I took home a fdm printer anycubic 3mega s.
the problem are the supports, I had had had + budget I had seen the itching with double nozzle that reading could solve the problem supports with a second material suitable for purpose.
in firm use only external service in resin for the usual reasons , cost / management / quantity of annual pieces that do not justify the purchase.
