... to empty the pipes?

They always recommended water because.... Let's see what answers you give me:)

greetings

Does anybody really know?

change the question: are you quieter near a compressed air tank or compressed water?

Let's say it's about compressibility. . .

You answered yourself.
What could happen if a 300bar oil pipe breaks?
What could happen if a 300bar gas pipeline breaks?
to "stupid" questions. . .

to "stupid" questions serve answers ... for now I only have examples.

Tell me the difference in oil or gas...

in physics they taught us in superiors, at the first, perhaps in the second year, that liquids, like gases, are both compressible fluids, with the difference that for example water, in the liquid state has a degree of infinitesimal compressibility, therefore negligible.unless being physicists, to us technicians, engineers, the liquid in question we consider it incomprehensible, in most cases.

I responded implicitly in 8.
My niece who's here partly to me understood.
And I'm not telling you how old my grandson is.

when you tell us clearly, where you want to go and stand, we will all be grateful! :-)

depends. (It's always how an engineer responds, right? )

Try to fill in water the counters against the rams and then tell me how far the pieces come.

Good evening.
then @ pietro2002. As you said in post #3 you have to understand if the tubes are to be emptied from water or wine, it changes a lot from the goliardic point of view.
from the scientific point of view... there is to interpret the initial question of @mir "...to empty the pipes? "I come to answer you: simply flipping them over.
but I doubt that you are satisfied:)
if it is a plumbing system for home. . Just close the water and open the tap at the bottom of the house.
as he said News and his nephew.. liquids are not compressible and therefore.. already the title " compressed air or compressed water " is not exact.
sincerely I prefer to stay close (with some fear), to a liquid tank with an internal pressure of 300 bar rather than a gas tank at 300bar.
if the liquid tank is almost full.. air at 300 bar in its interior will be less and less than in a tank with only gas.

There's a movie, which I don't remember, Robert de niro as a burglar.
to open a safe made a small hole up and filled it almost completely with water.
from the same hole inserted an explosive charge microscopic that generated considerable internal pressure. the safe made pofs and opened in two.. without a slight noise.
All this obviously has nothing to do with a... with the problem of @mir

seems to be on a page of the week enigmistic

Okay, so it's more dangerous than a 300 bar gas or a 300 bar liquid?
If you miss a pipe with oil or water at 300 bar, in addition to taking a shower, if it takes you lame or kills you.
a pipe with gas or steam if it bursts at 300 bar it could whip a little less but I don't think you're going out unharmed.
