excuse my "ignorance": a piece in 2d made with a cad different from rhino and saved as dxf and then imported in rhino, when the slate is created, can have problems, instead of making the piece 2d directly in rhino?
That's right. I create figure 2d with chorel draw, I carry it in dxf in rhino, I extrude the figure and create the solid. Then I take him to stl. for this I wonder if these steps can create errors in the stl, instead of creating the piece 2d in rhino and then export it to stl that maybe does not create errors.i.e. amounts the dfx (created by a program other than rhino) of a flat figure, you work on it forming a solid and then expose the solid in stl? Is that what you meant? because the stl format is used for solids. solid surfaces are divided into triangles.
As for the dxf format it is a so-called interchange format, that is recognized by many different programs, without problems.
I don't think so. if rhino allows you to open the created dxf with chorel and to work on it without problems means that it accepts it. Besides, as I said before, the dxf is a proven interchange format.... that maybe doesn't make mistakes.
