Good morning to all, as we all know recently we hear a lot about the new strand tied to the cheap 3d printers who are invading the market.
Obviously in the coming months/years there will be a crazy ferment around this sector.
What I would like to ask you today is about software to use these printers .

do you have a 3d printer? use its proprietary software or an open source?
What are your impressions about this?
I also entered a survey on this issue to verify the possible spread!

For those who have added, could you explain what the software's merits are?
ease of use or for a question of compatibility?

I use various software based on their best features, specifying that I use a single extruder printer, I would say that:

kisslicer probably the best for the management of fillings and supports, unfortunately it was abandoned therefore difficult to hope in other improvements.

care is in great phase of development, very fast in slicing, good in fillings, some sin in the supports. right now is my favorite

slic3r many configurable parameters, but some peels during filling and creating supports, however remarkable.

simplify3d is a software that I am trying to understand, with great potential, as the possibility to define the positioning of the supports, but some gaps and sometimes slicing problems, I hope in the development

Paulo

thanks to the considerations
I would like to point out that the survey cites repetier (which is not a slicer).

Anyway, I quoto enough paolofo.

1) kisslicer: reliable, but no longer supported (or at least.... no news from months of its developer)
2) care: constantly developing. generation supports and multi-strength still very raw. some bugs.
3) simplyfy3d: the big bet. psychotropic user interface. not as fast as cure, but good quality of gcode. It's still got to go, but it's already a good tool. generation of versatile supports.
4) slic3r: working, working. But support management is more or less a cure. has still several bugs.
