Good day to all.
I write this post to share with you a need that we have where I work to give the possibility to the assembly workshop to see the 3d projects we do.
we have created various mounting stations with various small computers where operators can see projects using edrawing.
Unfortunately this solution is pitiful edrowings goes badly and is worth it, somehow you can see the projects but rotate them or hide parts is a very slow and annoying operation.
Do you know any solution that works better?
Good day to all.

if the hardware of the "small pcs" is small....of course also a set of 10 pieces is unmanageable, especially with integrated video card.
Did you try to open the same together on the workstations?

try to convert, from edrawing, to executable files; but in theory should not change anything or worsen because the file is heavier. Still trying doesn't cost anything. try also saving, from solidworks, the file in pdf3d
if the pc with which you open the files is not suitable there are no miracle solutions

hello, little pcs are small because they are 10, with workstations open well, but we don't want to spend so much

our hope is to find a "agile" solution. I saw a discussion in the forum talking about file step viewers. I could try to export the assemblies to step files and try some viewers of those. But I think it's a problem they'll have others too. and I'm looking around but I don't find a simple solution and it's reasonably economical

you can try to download freecad and save solidworks files in step. miracles do not, however, is a little more responsive and less demanding than edrawing.

I found the square by converting into step, importing into inventor and saving in dwfx, the file is very light and opens with a tablet, I talk about assembling with 5-10k parts

Did export from solid in 3dxml seem heavier to you than inventor dwf?
I did some test and at the file size level the 3dxml file is clearly lower than that of solid, the handling does not seem bad. the 3dxml file is always based on edrawings, but in my opinion it is more performing

and I will tell you more about ws of the, edrawings pro is not really a splinter to open the 3dxml and to manage it. .
not to mention the fact dwfx files open it with free autodesk apps or programs, type design review or a360
Clearly this does not justify the purchase of inventor only to make an export. .
