I am a student and I would need to buy a pc for autocad. I have limited availability and had thought of taking a pc refurbished with these features:

lenovo think center m710s sff
ram 16 gb
memory 240 gb
core processor 4
intel core i5-6500
graphics card intel hd graphics 630
operating system win10pro
hard drive ssd
speed processor 3.20 ghz

Can someone tell me if I chose the right features?
Thank you.

hi, here you find the minimum requirements for autocad 2023: autodes specsThe system you chose would be good in great lines. I don't know if you buy the pc from a center that can change it but I recommend you choose a pc, or if you have the possibility of installing it, a dedicated video card. a nvidia rtx or amd rx if you want a budget choice, a nvidia picture or amd firepro if you want something certified.
it would be useful to understand whether you will only use autocad or other programs and with what specific requests ("heavy" of the file, 2d or 3d, if you will make etc...). Also a budget indication could help us to target you on a good pc.

If you're a university student and you're going to do a little bit of everything from 2d to 3d and some renders I think it's not okay as it takes a little more sprinting cpu and a decent video card.
for video cards find themselves professional with less than 100€ both nvidia and amd.
for information duty the lenovo above indicated I would not pay it more than 100-150€.

I agree with taurus77. the notebook is definitely able to start autocad and make you do some line. However performance will be many limited and do not wait much longer than this. I suppose instead of some 3d models will make you do it.

where :roflmao:?

But wasn't it a time of crisis for the gpus?

I think that the op, sooner or later, needs a gpu to make 3d and some renders. if it has very low claims could opt for a laptop with a 3050 from 6gb, otherwise I saw on amazon some laptops (classical tank from gaming) with a 3070 to 1,500€ approximately.

did not specify the budget, though!

Thank you all. I'm not university but high school. And maybe I found a pc from an acquaintance yesterday. I try...otherwise I will keep in mind all your suggestions.

... I meant professional video cards used type firepro w5000, w7000, picture k4000.

characteristics should allow you to work with the cad.
But I would choose an i7 so you would have a power reserve for the future.
For example, I've been working since 2013 with a juror i7 3770.
It doesn't make any faville, but it's defending itself. the graphics card is a very dated geforce gt 620 2 giga.
the ram 8 giga
I also make renderings.
I personally assume that 2 are the most important things: ram and processor, then come graphics card and everything (which if there is better, but if the pockets do not allow great expenses I would give priority to processor and ram and the rest can be added later)
