Bye to all,
I believe that this type of question has been placed there k times, but I need your help.
work in a company that produces food machines and for the moment the designer-designer still uses the two-dimensional autocad for business drawings.
time ago (2007; I then did another job..) we bought a license of solidworks that remained unused until today for lack of time.
After installing the program (sw) and doing some training with solidfacil, I understood the enormous potential of these sw 3d compared to the 2d.
the problem is the costs of this program that are obviously connected with the potential it offers.
at this point the software selection becomes crucial, before embarking on the purchase of 3-4 sw licenses (with related annual maintenance fees), I would like to be sure to make the right choice, even at the cost of "cestinating" the license of sw in ns possession.
What we need:
- mainly we make mechanical pieces obtained from turning and milling, not particularly complex
- It's important that the table is fast.
- do not make moulds or with particularly complex sweeps
- we use a lot of "lamiera" for carpentry of various kinds
- there is no interest in any structural simulation, etc.
- having a corporate heritage dwg, conversion from this format is very welcome.

What do you recommend?

thanks to all in advance

Bye!

the juice of history according to me is precisely this: in these sectors the 3d has an extra march than the 2d.
I don't know solidworks but I know it's in line with most of the 3d mechanics on the market. my advice is not to change so recover the money of a license (I think... ).

there is certainly people very + expert of me but ......
but about your last point, that of the conversion from dwg, I would say that the ideal is another autodesk-plated program, i.e. inventor.
At least theoretically it should not have any problems, for the rest I would say that having "limited" requests for the moment all mechanical programs of cry satisfy them.
- solidworks
- solidedge
- inventor
the usual triad.......

thanks for the advice..
commercially from solidedge made me a really inviting offer:
Free license if advance three years of service fee! ! !

but check what they offer you in the package.

to the point recheck limit for your needs and verify that their proposal meets your needs.

especially attention to some license that suddenly comes out to open files etc... type step or for the sheet ... you never know

quoto and add: If you are interested in solidedge, go to the dedicated forum section, where you will find moderators and users who have already faced your dilemmas, and they will surely know how to help you evaluate and choose the best thing for you. :mixed:
