Hello everyone, I write to ask you an opinion on the choice of a software to make the models of my master's thesis.
Therefore, the theme is the retrofit of an existing building, so in addition to recreating the building in the state of fact I have to change it, especially in the envelope, using technological elements of various nature (which I will have to show also in the details).
My base for 2d drawings is autocad, and until now I used sketchup for 3ds. I wanted to speed everything up. I know, at the basic level, revit, having supported a modeling examination on that software, but I wondered how fast it could be in the modeling of new elements or in the reproduction of "packages" of building technologies such as coats, ventilated walls with external surface in metal, etc.
I considered autocad architecture, I saw that while not being a bim can run models starting from plants using parametric elements. the choice was therefore between these two software. I would also remain in autodesk because of student licenses on each of their software.
thanks to all for attention and advice!

I don't want to look side by side responding to you revit, so I'm telling you that if you know menadito autocad you probably could take less time. But I ask you another question. .
I mean, out of college when you're gonna get into the world of work, self-knowledge is given for granted, point. revit architecture could instead be a discriminant for the search for a future job in Italy and especially abroad. fatigue now to pass from a summarised knowledge to an excellent (necessary to address the type of design object of your thesis) could facilitate you then.

of course if you have already planned your future work or if it is only about making the whole speech quickly decays.

It's just my opinion, though, take it as such. .

Good luck with the thesis.:finger:

Yes, I had thought about joining two useful things together, the fact is that, based on the times I had used to prepare the revit exam (which was in support of reproducing an existing building of a conocyte architect), I realize that I would really want to solve certain "nodes" of design. and unfortunately the speech of time is fundamental.
What about autocad... I don't know him in menadito, only part 2d, in fact modeling 3d I always did it in sketchup. I don't know how fast it is to learn autocad architecture (which then would be what was once called desktop architectural).
thanks anyway for the advice and for the wishes! :
