alibre + algor

hi, I am interested in alibre, in the version "top" (which also includes a fem module based on algor). if possible (I address above all the dealers on the forum) I would need this information:

- the fem module is really integrated (prom&proe type or sxw&cosmos) or it is a switch (passing geometry and parameters to the fem application, in this case algordesigncheck: a little like spaceclaim with ansys to understand us).

- what are the characteristics of the fem module? are included (or include with surcharge) contact type elements, friction, beam, shell, composites etc.? or is the approach "express" (only solid to tetrahedra and uniformly distributed forces on surfaces)?

from what I read on the site I propose for the second hypothesis in both cases (and there would be nothing wrong seen the very competitive price).

any upgrade fea becomes so autonomous from the cad alibre
the same philosophy is applied to the new photorealistic rendering engine in real time keyshot as in http://www.lista.it/alibre/alibre_photor.html even with keyshot offered by alibre we launch an external application, installed at 32 or 64 bits, among other things surprising in the instantaneous and dynamic visualization of the photorealistic rendering, with the alibre cad that remains "light" and especially free for other works.

So the fem module (algor) is a "switch"? being a "express" version I would have prepared a "real" integration.

I am trying alibre (I have not yet downloaded the add-ons, which I understand are to download aside from partner sites) and I must say that it seems to me an honest product, in line with the presentation that is made on the site. Good thing!

hi matteo, alibre is available in various versions, and xpress, professional_demo_30days and standard do not include neither fea nor rendering as indicated in http://www.lista.it/alibre/alibre_compare.html so I understand your doubts if you're using one of the three versions.
vice versa, users of professional and expert versions have various additional and separate software, however always provided by alibre (you don't have to download them from other sites) such as the fea and the rendering I said before. alibre cares the interface between these specialized applications and the cad alibre (which throws them to menu). therefore the fea supplied with professional alibre and expert has the limit of linear analysis of a single piece launched by algordesigncheck but still manageable with engine algor 23.1 to 32 or 64 bit while liberating the cad alibre for other tasks. past algor piece for fea analysis, the user can assess whether to upgrade fea analysis tools with other algor modules or using other valid solutors like yours.

Just one thing: the version of alibre I downloaded for the evaluation proga includes algor (express version I mean)? I can't activate it, maybe I forgot to download something from the site?

I'm sorry, free xpress alibre doesn't include the fea or keyshot. 30-day test drive then allows access to the sheet development and advanced import/export but not to the fea.

I apologize but I read and read the page http://www.lista.it/alibre/alibre_compare.html and I can't find any mention to a fea module included in professional and/or expert versions.

and also in the rest of the site we always talk about nastran 4d: does this mean that the support fea 'free' in the 2011 version of alibre is no longer there??

algor was acquired by autodesk, and autodesk unilaterally revoked the bundle with alibre.
alibre is developing integrated alternative fea solutions, one of which is www.femdesigner.it with free downloadable demo.
