application loads analysis fem

Hi, guys! I spulved some discussion but I didn't find anything to help me. I have to perform a fem analysis on a piece 3d (a beam). I must therefore apply loads in precise positions. the problem is that in the fem module of inventor it is not possible to fix the position of the loads or better it is possible to select only the surfaces and the load is inserted accordingly in the direction perpendicular to the face. my idea was therefore to do sketches (e.g. a rectangle) on the beam in the areas where we have to apply the load and then make them surfaces. I don't know if it's correct and even if it were I don't know the command to make a sketch a surface (I read a fantomatic "hole closure" which, however, on inventor 2018 I don't find!). Can I help?thank you

do a sketch on the solid part where you apply the load by delimiting an area, for example with a rectangle.
Divide the surface using that sketch, in that way you will have the solid in which you will find a portion of a surface that you can select to apply the load.

How should I model, in a fem analysis, a bolted link between beams? Is it possible to use a fastening or a hinge to take into account the deformability of bolts and beams?

click the button, for example line, click the line, button dx appears a menu with some options, at the top repeat the command.
