application of material on a curvilinear surface

Hello.

This problem blocked my job this morning. .

I have to apply a material dimensioned to oc (a banner) on a curvilinear wall of the same size of the material, and so far everything ok.

when I apply the material though, it is not properly distributed on the surface... in practice does not have a beginning and an end, but mixes unpredictablely, completely confusing.

I also corrected the value of facetres, the display is milled but the material always makes me the same problem

similar problem I have noticed sometimes even on flat surfaces, for example on 5 identical panels but with different orientations, one or two deform the material

What can I do? :frown:

first apply the material and adapt it to the object, then:
menu display > render > mapping > cylindrical mapping,
select the default surface and cylinder that appears should already go well, otherwise you can change it as you like and act on the image mosaic and offset values

possibly you can also use planar mapping if the bending radius is very high (soft curve) but the setting is not as immediate as the cylindrical one

Thank you so much!
I'm gonna go and try!
