apply material and color of part1 to part2

hi, I would like to know if there is a quick way to apply the same material and color used in part1 to part2, a sort of "pain applies property",...

the problem arises when I apply to part1 a simil ral color which is composed of "numbers" e.g. 345.456.545 and a material that I may have modified. . .

I meant a look with rgb color, mappings, lighting, transparency, custom finish. . .

If you can't "transfer" directly to the other side, can you at least save the appearance of part1 and then call it back to part2?
