"aprire" file 3dxml

Bye to all,
I found a 3dxml format model that I opened with catia.
in that format (as for other exchanges) all levels of the logical tree are closed and I cannot observe the procedure used for realization.
wanting to reproduce it for exercise how could I do it?

continuing to search for info in the forum I realized that the 3dxml format is just pure display...and that's enough!
is there no way, even converting the file to another format, which allows me to extract even only the surfaces of the model and then be able to work with it?

Hi.

3dxml format theoretically can contain exact surfaces, but in fact in 99 % of cases contains triangle mesh for interactive viewing and on web. Of course it will be, if you need to build on the real model. you can try to open it with typized shape editor I see it appears in the list in v5r21

...is that the point exactly how do I "treat it"?
My catia quietly opens the format...the problem is that I can't do any operation like surface extraction or anything else to then recreate the solid!

the data you have are those, points and triangles, you don't expect anything else!! if they are not usable directly export the model to stl and then reopen it with the reverse module. then you will have the triangles and from there you will leave. Good job!
