associate two solids with the same code

Hello, guys, I'm asking for advice.
using inventors for our machines often and willingly we have to do tubular protections with network panels and then we make iams and idw to which the code is all saved in a pdm. our suppliers before sending in production the protections send us the protection "studied" from them with the relative fixings of the panels in net and send it in neutral format ( step or iges ) in order to be able to compare it perhaps by entering it directly on the machine in order to verify possible interference.
Is there a possibility to associate the same code with the solid model that sends us the supplier? so that when through the pdm I look for the code I have the possibility to open or my iam or step. first the supplier sent us the drawings in dwg and I could do this because the code I can associate the dwg as well as the table idw but it is always all tied to one model and then when I say to the model to open the associated file gives me the possibility of choice between dwg or idw.
I would like to have the same thing with the step.

Thank you.

I think it depends very much on the pdm, the best thing is to contact who gives it to you.
for ours, for example, you just need me to rename the file and give it the same name (code) saved in the pdm database, then I copy it in the membership folder and in search you see it.
or each code has its attachments and I could save it as an attachment to the code.

But I don't know your com works.

look I thank you very much for the answer. I very much must come those who take care of the pdm to make us an update and we will certainly submit the problem, but my was a simple curiosity if inventor could do this alone.
