Good evening,
I don't know if it's the right section
Is there anyone using autodesk recap to scan small objects? I wanted to know if you can do and if the cloud of points is usable working first to then print the piece with the 3d printer

Thank you.
Hi.

I think that several "simulated" 3d scan apps are developing, some need an appendix to attach to the tablet or smartphone, to me personally the most interesting seems qlone, but I never used it, nor installed it.
In fact, I took advantage of this discussion to ask if someone avoids this procedure instead of being with caliber and meter to make reliefs of details.

I used it a year ago with cell, but I locked my cell phone and let it go. I think it's too much work for a cell phone, in fact I'm oriented to camera and pc software.
now I have installed 3df zephir, the free version allows import of 40 photos that reading comments seem enough for small objects. As soon as I have a little time I try.

I have the quarrel version of zephyr, the cost is really low, the important thing is to make the photos done well,...to do what it takes to me the rest is a "forward forward", of course there are other functions, that maybe one day I will use

But be careful that then the model you have to scale, so a couple of measurements and a caliber you always need (y)

Hi.
I saw the fight version but before spending 200 euros I wanted to try if it was my case.
What do you mean? positions the object on a white background? I would use a nikon d5100 .
Thank you.

Hi.
hi, there are various tutorials, simple and well done, regarding lighting, shooting point, overlapping, etc... and in case of a ball background you can "masking" the images.

cmq the support forum is great...I took it after trying the trial, in memory of 15 days, so you have no surprises if the hardware creates you shard (personally never had problems, both from the fix and from the laptop).

As for the dlsr, I do not know nikon, I use pentax, but your seems to me ok, 16megapizze on apsc I can assure you that they are fine;)

Perhaps if you have a macro (or a lens with a minimum distance of short focus) it is better, you have a larger magnification ratio, so in case of small objects you can fill more the frame, which is fundamental for the calculation that makes the program then.

easel + remote control, uniform background + good lighting...the rest is very simple

I recommend you download and try thoroughly the trial, it is a full but limited time version

p.s. eye that photogrammetry is not good for very smooth surfaces and in some other case, but there are tricks, sometimes feasible, other times it is very ruddy.
cmq between the videos and the forum also explain this

Thank you very much for the explanations, I have to equip myself for the remote control the rest I have everything
I'll try to see what happens

hello and thanks again

thanks to all for the answers, let's say that the classic use that I should do would be worker away for customer support so the idea that every worker has his digital camera and pay attention to the stand, the white background etc., I see it a little hard, for this reason the idea of an app on the mobile phone seemed to me the most feasible, even because I believe that for the huge data transferists and telephone contract is necessary, therefore with the various types of
As for the 3d software to install on the PC it is always a proof that you can do, but it remains the fact that if you need particular attention it becomes difficult to ask everyone, probably instead 3d scanning, at least looking at the ad tutorials of the app, I see it more guided and intuitive.

Hi.
if these are your needs then the choice "mobile" I would say that is obliged
I used it a year ago, they had upgrades and thought about it well using it with the tablet that has 1gb of ram, so I think the reason for the block was that.
Try not to harm so much is free;)

immagggini telecammmera libbbera rash but what tutorial is it? the result is embarrassing, all out of professional. 42 photos on the phone, but for charity. . .

I need 200/300 photos for a shoe sole or upper
use 2 led headlights, sometimes a swivel plate (ikea), a white sheet (if the object is white I use a black rag or cmq as dark as possible), two corkscrews two cameras (just one, wanting I can use even three), imposed 100/150 photo with interval of 5 seconds and between one click and the other muovo the subject, trying to "burn" the background

then I take the jpg and feed them to the wizard "forward forward" (you don't need to use other software with the lite version), then I take the mesh directly without passing for other software (y)

p.s. sometimes mesh is so good that if you want you could fres directly, without reverse
