Does anyone know if it is possible to make automatic the creation of the flat model in the sheet metal parts? (which I don't understand why it shouldn't be. . )

If it's possible, I don't know, maybe with a macro.
It's certainly not automatic because it weighs down the file processing during the steps until the end of the part. .
What do you need? because you just need a click for it?

..beh, they could at least put it optional: in my case I hardly come to so complex as to notice the heaviness due to flat models. .
But I often get to the table and not have generated them: so I have to reopen the file and give the command.
Of course, it's not very serious, but if it's automatic.. as well as if there was the possibility to select the table directly when you whip the views of the folded piece, instead of having to remake the round with the browser.. small conveniences.

But on the other hand, you don't always need
create a macro equals to remake the appropriate button...
it would be ideal that when you close a sheet part and you did not create the flat model you ask the question: You didn't generate the flat model, did I create it before closing?
(then the window will earn countless "do your own things" but it could work. . . )

or you can do it in the table, which is perhaps even better. (so the model loads it cmq not? )

I also quote the question of being able to choose the same model twice by changing between flat and folded model without having to open the particular for the second time (all this if you do not have the model 3d already open, obvious)
