automatic design parameter

I don't have the work pc under my hand to write you the correct steps to perform but in my opinion it's easier than you think, in the company we have this configuration.

in a text file called paramalv are inserted the names of designers
start-parts and start-assembly are common to all indistinctly and the design or similar parameter is declared
in the config.pro, if I remember correctly, this file is recalled.
every time you create a new prt/asm file when you want to enter the name just go to the parameters table and in the column the names of the designers will appear.

It is true, but I assume that in addition to the name of the designer a minimum description of the particular must be included, the material, type of finish (painted, galvanized) therefore at the level of time is not lost much.

reasoning does not bend ... the only thing is that a person (voluably or not) might be wrong in choice;-)

within the start_part / start_assembly you must ensure that you have the parameter to identify the designer and designate it within them as a parameter.
in the file paramval.txt (I attach a copy) instead of drawing 1.2.3 put the designer's name, respect well punctuation, spaces and commas because it is quite susceptible. (open it with notespad++)
this file then put it in the folder where there are also other configurations or where you think it is better, the important thing is that then the path declares it in the config.pro, ( edit it from the drop-down menu / other commands then choose editor configurations in the window that opens you) with find writes
restricted * you must select restricted_val_definition and then the path of your text file.

at the end find the string inside the cofig.pro written so
restricted_val_definition c:\_ptc_\signature\config\paramval.txt

Save and close.
open I create your start_part go to the parameters and select tools in the top folder entries, in the next dropdown click "upgrading definition", in this way you read the paramval.txt with the designer names, save and if everything went well do the same thing for the start_assembly.

If it doesn't work, it's definitely a problem in txt, pay attention to punctuation.
