How come if I change the aspect assigned to a material, the parts that use that material do not update their appearance ? but it is necessary to reassign the material to the part again because the update happens?

I have 2 custom aspects "polished steel" and "matte steel", which I applied to 4 custom materials, aisi316 and aisi 304 in the two glossy and matt versions
the parts have as material assigned one of these 4 materials
if I change the look "polished steel" and overwrite it in the library saving it.
the parts that use it do not update their appearance, as long as they do not reassign the same material, then they update
