Hello, from the workshop asked me to help with the settings of this cam.

google hasn't helped me, the help online either, I don't know it so I turn to you, although this section is not very active.

1) Can you change the background color? now it is black and the operator would prefer something nicer for the eyes. a blue or a green for example.

2) when a new geometry is opened, this is displayed in low quality and it is always necessary to set a fine tile in the graphics of the file. exists a system wide configuration for this property? is it possible to make sure that the pieces are always open in high quality?

I know that they are trivial questions and do not affect the job, but if you can remove these small Indians and make happy who the truciola would please me (and would give me points to spend when I do some crap with the drawings...)

Thank you very soon.

are questions more related to the cad that you use than to the cam, however, if you use hypermill there are good chances that you turn it on hypercad (thinkdesign 2009.3), in which case I can be useful, otherwise I recommend you ask this question on the forum of your cad (solidworks, inventor.. ).

Anyway, for hypercad/thinkdesign:

increase the tile when importing an external file:

1) create a new template file
2) menu tools -> options/properties -> click the tag "owner entities" -> set the slider of the tile on the desired value -> button ok.
3) close the template file as well, there is no need to save it.

now opening a file (iges, step) will automatically be tiled to the value we set.
if the model has been saved in a .e3 file with a low tile will obviously open with the same low tile, in which case change the tile and re-save the file.

change background color:

1) create a new template file
2) already that we put tiling as from our preferences with the method indicated above
3) Ambient format menu -> click sign + on the first item at the top left, now we can change the background with solid color (uniform) shaded etc, under clicking on the colored square (in your case it will be black) we can choose the background color. do also various tests with clear shadings, dark etc..
4) We save the file named "iso-mm.e3".
5) to use this file as a template every time you open the cad, you have to replace the original file, then: close hypercad/thinkdesign -> open the file path ....\open mind\hypercad\2009.3\thinkdesign\files\templates for hypercad or ....think3\thinkdesign\2009.3\thinkdesign\files\templates for thinkdesign and, after copying
6) launch the cad again, now as default with an empty template should open our file with tiling colors and what else we will have set before already ready.

this applies to a model with iso-mm standard, of course if you work in inches the file to be replaced will be ansi-inch.e3 and away.

I hope I was useful.

Perfect! Thank you very much.

here I have met some difficulties

the cad at the end is a hypercad 2007.1 and I don't find the iso-mm.e3 file. there are only daei templates .lya that I think refer to the tables.

the background change succeeded me, now I have to find the way to save the setting in a template... any idea will be very well accepted.

Thank you very soon

I don't remember the 2007 version but you probably have to do:

as the previous point 3:
menu size -> environment -> we click sign + on the first item at the top left, now we can change the background with solid color (uniform) shaded etc, under clicking on the colored square (in your case it will be black) we can choose the color of the background. do also various tests with clear shadings, dark etc..

Now, next to the room writing you should have 3 icons, the most to right is a diskette, we click it (Save as default).
if you notice that the file already exists overwrite.

Okay, it should work.

Let me know.
