thanks to the answers, it is actually a simplification of the physics of a non-return valve. I was only interested in the appearance of p2 pressure that also acts on the back of the plunger.

This is an unusual thing. with the intake of p2 present from both sides of the plunger the plunger may also not be there, would be the case of the so-called dive cylinders.
