when a technical design is realized, it is used to indicate the parts that compose it with brands. I call this “marking” or “pallining”, for example I have a l beam composed of two welded straight pieces. I call the two pieces “p01”, “p02” and the welded made with the union “m01”.

But I have doubts, is there any specific legislation on this matter? something that defines the terms “part”, “assieme”, “assembled”, “cycle” etc.
because working with external design studies, it seems to me that everyone works a little “to feeling”, I understood. But if there were any rules of reference, I could push in that direction.

I answer for the metal structures as well, I imagine that the mechanics is very different, as well as the c.a. wood, coatings.

There is no reference legislation, and if any manufacturer exists, it would derogate.
In fact the manufacturing, assembling, storage, shipping, pre-aximation and assembly requirements are the most varied and impose almost every project a more or less complicated or specific numbering.

some of my customers use the fictitious marking (p01+p02=m01). that is, m01 is fictitious, does not correspond to a physical element.
Other customers use physical marking (m01+p01=m01). i.e. the main piece carries the brand number directly
for almost all loose pieces we have directly brand number (m01)
but I have a customer who asks for a fictitious marking also for the loose (p01=m01)

Moreover depending on the complexity of the structure you may have simple brands (mark 10, positions 100) or very articulated (mark a5_10_1234, position a12345). where prefixes are only (or not) for brands, or only for subassembly, or only for the lot, or only for a specific work of the project. but maybe they have only one drawing with a tabellina of different prefixes for lotto.

Others mark structurally different elements (columns, beams, goats) with different prefix.

Sometimes, especially for bridges, we have to mark with the number of concise. once I marked a viaduct with a numbering such that given a number of position, it could be known immediately if it was a superior, or lower, or soul or stiffening, of a right or left beam, and of which I connect longitudinal.

At the moment we are working on a very particular project that the architect, and then the engineer divided into different parts coding each part with a specific code and the manufacturer asks that this marking be maintained.
