boolean operations on system walls?

Unfortunately I can't understand if to make walls with heads like those you see in the drawing I can change the system walls (it seems not, as you do with the booleans of autocad on solids) or it touches insert a new local mass.

ps: clarification, the curved wall on the right is not an exact semicircumference but its smaller portion, in which I would like the head of the wall not to be controlled by the radius but by another direction. . .

for now I have solved roughly with an in-place modeling category walls.
 
...add to gfrank... to cut the geometry before 'close' the modeling in place. possibly you could realize a family ' generic model based on wall' parameterize it and then...
