in the next few months I will have to realize the electrical and sw design of a cnc machine a little particular: This is a 3-axis cnc designed to write by means of an ink pen (special) on a rubber seal. from what I know should be like a lip seal with a semi-spherical side (write). of course, as you will understand, the machine does not need huge precision, even if the writing is small. Given the need to contain working times and adhere to the customer's specifications, I chose to use a cnc siemens 840di solution line + drives siemens sinamics s120. As for mechanics and electronics, we are at the top as a choice of materials and technologies and I do not worry in any way. I have no experience, however, in cad-cam and I ask you a tip, since the customer asked me! on which cam I could orientate, that it is suitable for application and the cnc in question, and at the same time allow us to contain the costs? for charity, no solution to the limit of possibilities. What it takes, as they say...

hello, young man, I only saw your post now: in the meantime compliments for the work you will have to do. from what I understand you have to write on a semi-spherical surface. This is a 3d outline. This functionality is carried out well or badly by all the main commercial cams, as it is to realize a workmanship in three axes. what did you think?

Until now we have little concern about this aspect, since using an 840 of sl, in the face of a greater cost, we have the maximum of opening and flexibility of use. It will also be Moroccan but when you need a cn to ask not to cn I think siemens is the only one.. .
