However, this cloud thing fascinates me a lot, although I think it is only suitable for those who have an infrastructure that can have their own cloud (fiat, airbus, boeing), not relying on what gives them the company that also provides the cad.

Of course it will mean death for the entire commercial network and service of the vendors, as well as for the producers of "third" software, such as pdm or application cam etc etc, unless they develop a kind of market similar to that of the application store of the apple.

I'm also fascinated by the thing... but only at technical/teoric level.
are very skeptical about its practical applications: We are not in a perfect world, indeed, we are in a perfect world.
I see what happens, in the small, to the companies that have the cad under a pdm: how many times you export files and you work without "shade" for 10001 reasons.. .
thinking that, suddenly, everyone is magically connected and work on the same file, it seems utopian.
Maybe I'm wrong and I'm just antiquated.

ps: in Italy, after 2 years from the announcement, there is still only 1 v6 driver (and I say pilot, not in production...) understood as "platform v6" (catia + enovia with the concept of cloud).
The v6s that are around are just ex-matrix.
