carcad problem 2d

Hello,a simple question about a 2d autocad procedure(I hope I can explain):
now I have the version 2015.
I was able a long time ago, it seems to me with this version but maybe it was a previous version, to do the following: we have a reference (a line or a point) and to have the command line and the garden activated. lending me a moment on the point of reference, that is enough to get the track (objection) and then moving me on the track, giving a keyboard value I went to establish the first point for the line (of course along the track). Now I can't do this anymore, if I try, it gives me a random point on the screen. I am forced to give the distance with a line and then leave with the desired line.
Can someone explain why? Is there any setting to change?
I really hope I've explained properly.

I have active f11 and f3 with selected extension.

I realized that between the various settings there is also that of the acquisition of the point with the shift key (small).
