Hello everyone,
I just signed up on this forum, although I had already happened several times in the past, always finding complete and interesting indications.
I am an aerospace engineering student at the last year of the master's degree, and within a structural field course I was asked to present a fem application.
I chose to model in patran an alare cassone subject to the phenomenon of the shear lag; of course the structure is simplified, and consists of a rectangular beam with concentrated elements (allego figura) subject to cutting, stuck-free. the corner suns have an area greater than those placed in the middle of the upper and lower panels, so using shell and beam elements I should see that the central insole deforms less than those of corner, which absorb more normal effort being their greater area (allego figura).
My problem is that I simply see a deformation of inflexible beam type, and I think it depends on how I apply the cut to the free section (rigid mpc); I should see instead that the central insole has a different deformation than the angles: the section should not remain flat. how can I correctly apply the cut to the free section?
Moreover I would like to ask for lumens on how to correctly display normal effort along the beams once the analysis is carried out.
thanks to all those who want to help me, and compliments for the forum.
