I have to solve a problem that never happened to me until now.
I use a cartilage that I created with all the fields I need. the field "dis n°" is linked to the file name. then when I start a drawing, the name I gave to the part is correctly shown. But what if I want to change that field? In practice I have a file name that is longer than the box and I wanted to know how to bypass the string that binds that field to the name of the part, and manually enter a shorter name . Am I losing myself in a glass of water?

entri in change sheet size (from the contextual under the right clik); "disappears" the design and remains only the paper with notes. double clik on the note to edit and you have all the normal editing tools.

I swear I did it 100 times before, but after editing the field (I did the same as you said), when I confirmed the initial file name . Maybe it was momentarily crazy:biggrin:
