hi I just landed on the forum and I would need help
I looked in the discussions but found nothing:confused:

I have a simple family in which from one model to another changes a diameter. I created the drw for the first and would simply change the reference to the model and save copy to have the drw of the other models that are part of the family table. Since the family table consists of many models I was looking for a way to automate the creation of its drw

Thank you.

Hi.

without a pdm dubito there is an automatic system.
you should make copies of the design related to the generic variant and go to replace in each copy the model with the correct variant.
Alternatively, you could make a single table in which you give a name to the variable (e.g. "d" for the diameter quota) and then create a table that brings back all variants.

thanks maxopus
We use windchill, but I don't know him well. You say he can help me?

I know that in a design you can add or replace a model, but can you change in a design view the reference to the model? being all family table models should recognize each other... .

thanks maxopus

I do not know windchill unfortunately and I hope to begin soon to use it but, I think it can surely be of help.
with the substitution model in the drawing environment on family table, all references are maintained because they are the same and have the same id.

Of course you can do it, you can always replace a view of a model with another family variant, all will update properly.
in this case windchill does not need, but windchill will also create the logical association of the wtpart to the new designs.

hold left button on a blank point of the screen in drawing mode, in the context menu choose design templates and in the replaced menu manager, you will appear the list of variants, choose a saving with name and the game is done.

ok done thanks 1000
Do you know if you can also do using simplified rapps? With this method it doesn't make me do it, so I think I should eliminate simplified rapps and manage them as a family table.
Are there any other possibilities?

rappr.sempl part or together?
ps: do not abuse... There are good forum rules, go introduce yourself.

part

I introduced myself yesterday
Sorry I got confused with another user...

for the purpose part rappr.semplis you can not make the replacement, if it had been together yes, so if you want to get the same result you have to pass by ft.:finger:
