change the family without changing the object function

Hello everyone,

I have a problem: I have to change the doors and windows starting from the base rows loaded in revit 2011; After changing them and saving them as families when I try to use them in the project, the program sees the door (or window) as if it was a common object, so it does not lay the wall and can be put anywhere in the sheet (not necessarily in the wall as it should be). I cannot change them when I am already in the project because I have to create them for other designers who will put them in their buildings.
Can someone solve this problem?

You definitely touched something you didn't have to. if you change the only geometry of a fixture, that will remain a fixture, even if saved with a different name

change of size, even in families, is performed using parameters.
if the window you use does not have parameters (length/width) you must add them.

Excuse me, I'll explain better: in the basic family of the door to two doors you can change the parameters by selecting only both doors, not individually as it serves me! using the family change command the door opens, showing the two separate doors. at this point they select a swing at a time and create a new parameter I define the width of each one!
