cutting of thermoformed parts and resin moulds for sampling of thermoformed parts.
according to my point of view, speaking as a profane, there is no need for a very evolved cam.
Is the company opting for the purchase of the sum3d any one that uses it and indicates whether it is suitable for processing?

It's been a few days since your question, but I try to answer the same.
I use daily sum3d for processing resin molds for thermoforming and for milling aluminum or brass accessories for the footwear industry.
the software does not have a 5-axis processing module, but must be purchased separately (it is called amm and you can read it here http://www.cimsystem.com/prodotto_scheda.php?id=45).
it is however possible to carry out more complex processing using some devices.
in short it is an economic cam but that does its work (with all the limitations deriving from a product of this belt). :wink:

the choice of the cam is linked to the possibility of having a post processor that can destire the axis 5 and 6 regardless of the diversity of the cnc.

Sorry about the delay but I took 4-5 months to better understand the company where I work currently. This company produces thermoforming products, has three types of 5-axis cutting robots that serve exclusively for cutting operations of contouring and construction holes. programs have always been programmed or through a brace thanks to the help of hand-cut sampling or made in iso language by hand starting from 3d mathematics. Now the need is to find a cad-cam that has the 5-axis contouring function and then is marketed by a company that can interface it with post-processors or studied at d'oc or already incorporated into the cad-cam itself.
according to this deepening secret you what is the best cam based on price/quality for this type of operations?
p.s. I add that sometimes to perform tests we also make simple resin prints.
