circular plant restaurant

Hello everyone, I hope to be in the most appropriate section.

for the examination of maturity I was assigned the project of a restaurant with 120 covers and 500m^2 of surface cover, with the building Cuban come out to the maximum 2 floors.

my idea, to do a very particular thing and not to make like a sheep a square plant, was to make a restaurant with a plant prevelously circular or oval.

Since you should be in a hilly area with panoramic view, I could make an entire portion of the power glass stained glass building (transparent solar panels).

Would it be a real idea for you? Do you have any advice for architectural barriers?

the idea is valuable. evaluates its inclusion in the context of the hilly area, perhaps limiting the curved surfaces to the panoramic view.
I say this by pointing out that a purely oval or circular room, involves a space speck according to the "normally" rectangular tables and only someone round
for the overcoming of the architectural barriers, keep in mind that access to the restaurant room and at least a service must be for the use of the handicapped, so make sure that the services for use of the restaurant room up to enough close to the room itself.
the difference in level from the road to the access plan must be exceeded with ramps, whose slope is limited (l13/89 and regional regulations)
evaluates the use of an elevator,if the level to be exceeded is remarkable, maybe for use also of the suppliers

specifies your question better. in general here is my first impression
the circular plant: you can do, complicate a bit the things for the furniture, perhaps you will need custom made furniture and electrodomisis. but basic is feasible.
power glass glass: Sorry but your building will have a roof of about 500mq. Right? potentially you can install a 9kw photovoltaic system using only about 55mq (check that I'm not sure). What are you doing with power glass that cost a madness and are not at all profitable?
architectural barriers: The usual rules apply

maturity of geometra? the idea is beautiful but eye to the fact that you don't contest a project a borderline for the compencies. a circular plant could assume a structure not suitable for the role of the geometer. So start your project and let us know!

thanks for the answers, in the end I decided to make a very wide circular window, with a rectangular part for the staff area, office, kitchen and sanitary for customers. the deposit raee in the basement and 10 rooms on the 1st floor with panoramic view and balcony.

I'm already doing the 3d draft with sketchup and indigo render. the final project I wanted to do it in autodesk revit

Perhaps you have already done this but you could learn some useful ideas by looking at other projects. on the website http://www.archiportale.com find many.
on the project I will do a little bit the bad part, but in order to give you useful tips.

1) You launched yourself in the direction of a bold aesthetic geometry, but then you were anchored to far too classic patterns. the square mesh of the pillars of 5 meters per side as well as the interior spaces so “square” punch with the rest. I understand the need to get suitable spaces for furniture on the market, but I invite you to let go inside as well as outside the building
2) to optimize the spaces I suggest you to concentrate all areas “non restaurant” without dividing them into two.
3) Looking at the plant there are swings, close to the circular glaze, from about 5 meters, are a few you should review this aspect.

gil you are perfectly right, but the problem is that there have been imposed some things like the pillars with maximum light 5m, regarding the concentration of services, kitchen etc... it is not possible because the entrance would come in the side part of the building or with the atrium too small.

I'll set them up right away, and try to "arrotondare" the inner walls a bit.
