hi guys, what's the difference between commit and rollback.
asks me before installing a new sp?
Thank you:

commit means that the sp is installed 'definitely', then included in the installation of catia and in case you need you will not uninstall it if you do not uninstall caia.
if you do not sort out the 'commit' option you will be, possibly, able to make a 'rollback', i.e. uninstall only the sp and preserve the installation of catia.
to install a further sp, the current must necessarily undergo the 'commit' or the 'rollback'
In any case, the sp will behave identically.
is an option that cats leaves users/administrators in case of sp that solves a problem but maybe opens another one.

hi barlafus, what do you recommend to do for an installation from 0 of catia and in the case of updating the sp to a next one?
Thank you.

catia version ga (installation only catia) is not
never usable, or at least if you have to use it professionally is
better than the mountains at least spk 1 (personal consideration) ....
I usually install ga and spk2....... .
then as I try the various spk, I commit the sp2 and then
"game" with other versions committing the spk only if I have no problems at all
moment of installation of the next spk......
e.g.
ga + spk2...
then I want to try the spk3
I commit the spk2 and install the spk3 , if it's okay
as above for other spk, if it goes wrong I rollback to spk2...

I'd like to know if what I write is correct.

from what you have written I seem to understand that if I have installed ga+spk2 and I want to try the spk3 I do (and then I assume that the spk2 goes well without giving problems) the commit of the spk2 that is, as if I merge together the installation of catia ga with the spk2 that from this moment on I am one.... so I install the spk3..... if I have now available two things...
first- I am satisfied with the spk3 and then the bottom with the unique package ga+spk2 making the commit
second-I'm not satisfied with the spk3 and so I roll back so I'll end up getting the unique ga+spk2 package and the spk4

Did I understand correctly? ? ? ?
If the answer is yes then I get a question.. .
If I pass from one spk to another through the rollback by chance I miss the updates that each of them brings??? or the last remaining spk is the new updates and those given by the previous versions??? ?

returning to my example is better to have installed
ga+spk2+spk3+spk4
or
ga+spk4? ? ?

You understand... .
berlafus was also very clear.
do not commit you can go back with rollback .
then if you install ga + spk2 , do not commit and leave the spk open
if the spk2 is not good and the spk3 rolls out of the 2 and install the 3
without commit etc. etc.
and cmq you can install very well ga+spk4 you are not obliged to do intermediate steps spk1-2-3 ..................
