Hi.

we have recently passed to the latest release of solidworks (from 2008 to 2012 sp1)
and among the many changes that have been there, there is an option that we do not understand why it has been removed:
when I open a set that has multiple configurations, I can select a part and right click
clikkare on "configure component" to enable or suspend the part for each configuration present.

orbene, in 2008 this option was valid for both parts and toolbox components, while now it is only for parts.
I looked at the guide and the forum, but I can't find any information about it: there is another command to do that (that is not to create a data table)
or do you have to resign yourself by hand from config to config?

Thank you.
Gabriele

I don't know if you can fit, but for example I group toolbox components into folders in the tree, then I create display states, for example in 1 status I see them in the other I hide them, after which any configuration you choose by matching the right display status choose whether to green the components or not

Meanwhile thanks to the advice.... .
But I already use the folders to group groups of details, and since you cannot create subfolders I can not follow as you say....

we hope in another alternative

do another display status where you hide all toolbox components... by activating one state you will see the components by activating the other not.

thank you, but I really need to activate or support toolboxes,
not just see them or hide them.
(e.g. plate with relative screws: in a config. there is the plate with the screws
and in another config. there is no plate and therefore there are no screws)

Anyway, googlando a little I found this post:http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=313588where a simple tip is given:
instead of selecting a toolbox item, you must select at least one part
plus one or more toolbox items; then right-click on the part and the item "configure component" appears:
at this point in the table there will be all the elements I had selected (including toolboxes)

problem solved:
thanks and hello

Hi, I suggest you report it to your var as a bug regression.
I would say it's solved with a workaround.
