Good morning, everyone!
for my activity I wanted to equip myself with a 2d drawing software, for small projects (at least initially), and I was evaluating, in the light of the paid passage of draftsight, if to opt for:
- draftsight professional, 243 €/year for single license
- autocad lt, 390 €/year, under the same conditions.

What do you recommend? My area is purely that of mechanical and industrial engineering, I do not operate in the construction industry.

Thank you so much!

2d? Sure?
I would take a 3d, inside it already has the tools for putting into the table and, therefore, you have the complete package.

but the cost becomes much higher. If I needed the 3d, I thought I'd go to freecad.
In case, what would you recommend? Thank you.

I wouldn't take a 2d, everybody's working with the 3d.
I don't know what activity you refer to, the choice of a cad includes a whole series of aspects that you can only know.
ipotizzo, since you talk about your business: Your cad customers use? do the projects want them in their format or is it okay also neutral?
what are the requirements of your orders? if you make automatic machines is a speech, if you make another mold, if you make sheet another, not to mention the modeling of surfaces.
as you see, you need more info to answer.

Thanks for the answer.
I do not design or design third-party accounts, so I do not need particularly advanced systems, I may have to prepare drawings that are little more than "draft", and that however I want to be on my cartilage and according to my standard, and that is why I thought of a simple 2d.

I'm sorry, I can't advise you on the 2d.
as I told you I find at least anachronistic working with a 2d nowadays, therefore I do not use any that is only two-dimensional.

I use little the 2d, between the two then I would stay on the original if you think you have compatibility issues with files from others.

Yes, but I still wanted a professional product.
between autocad lt and draftsight professional what would you recommend? Thank you!
"professionals" are also professional free, depends on what you mean

I would try the free, nanocad, doublecad, freecad, etc.
if you don't find yourself currency paid

cut... and I still want to be on my cartiglio and according to my standard, and that's why I thought of a simple 2d.
but the customization of the cartiglio can also have it with a 3d software of course. I think you should see some videos on the tube or get a demo on site.
I also repeat that without knowing what projects it is difficult to give you advice but if you say that a pure 2d is enough to you and then go autocad. I personally would do nothing without a 3d but in many still work with a 2d.

as 2d free there is nanocad another clone of autocad lt as drafsight in Italian. I would say you don't need to pay 2d when there are free.

Thanks for the answer! when moving on the 3d, and considering my use however salty, freecad could be enough, or should I think of a more expensive product, especially economically? Thank you!

hello to all, for those free software indicated in the thread, would you tell me if they are easy and fast software to use? I would need a software that would make me edit (cut, copy, paste even from more dxf), clean files, without any pretense or high geometries (such as control points to change splines). I used autocad but importing files defines me a myriad of points that I can't join because they are not actually tops, and they just weigh the file.
Thank you.
