good morning and good 2011 to all.
I would have the need, in generative shape design environment to create a connection with variable radius between un trimmed surfaces.
the command for the variable rays, works only in case there is a edge, but the latter is only identifiable if the surfaces were previously all trimmed and united together.
However, as I can't trim everything first, to find the edge, I would like to be able to carry out the radius using the connection command between surfaces, where I can't enter more radius values. I have seen that there is a possibility to select a law, but I do not know how to define it; or better I tried.. trying to define one, with the law command, creating in a sketch a line and a change curve, but then I don't know how to apply it... I don't even know if it's the right way.
I would like to get what was done with surf2->fillet, defining a thorns, a law of variation of the ray, and then surface by surface I built the radius.
thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Good day

because I can't trim everything first,
Bye.
I make my best wishes. It's not the answer you were waiting for and I ask why you can't trim everything. Perhaps you have to make a mold and in the mating between male and female you want to have the downloaded rays leaving the unaltered theoreticians?
If so was the strategy to create the matrix and the punch is different from the one that followed with the surface modeling.
However working with v5 skin is much better than v4 you have many more possibilities and you are much more flexible; choose to be parametric or not and choose to store the original surfaces or not. in your case it works without parameters but keeps the original so create the skin and does not touch the primitive surfaces.
make the skin, create the edge and run the variable radius on the edge. once created the variable radius explodes the skin by erasing all surfaces except the newly created radius; In this way you have the original surfaces not trimmed on the radius and the radius obtained from the skin.
I hope to have been of help and above all clear.
Say hi.

Hi, I'll spare my best wishes.

I don't know that you have a license but, you could try to create a connection between two surfaces with the law of variation of the radius (law key next to the field radius) of linear type or multiple points if the rays of variation are more than one.

Hi.
That's exactly what I was trying to do.
the button of the law, alongside the field relative to the radius, but I remain disabled, and I do not know how to create the law.
as a license I have hd2.

solved! ... just look in the manual ... :-)

I was wrong to select the thorns and then it didn't enable the law button.
