I saw that when I take a file to step, all the parts inside a container are ignored, so eventually my step is incomplete.

I read on the guide that's the intended behavior, so I wanted to ask two questions:

1) there is a way to overcome this problem, maybe some "features" (I say so right to make the president inca!) undocumented... .

2) I am doubtful that I am not using these containers properly. what are they born for? When is it convenient to use them?

being cocreated. . .

The container is this!contenitore-cocreate.webpand therefore its use is clear!

:biggrin::biggrin:

What? : eek:)

I usually use containers mainly for two needs:

- raw or pre-worked groups sometimes common to multiple finite groups
- optional equipment that are not part of the "basic machine"

In particular in the second case I have the basic machine with all the various settings and depending on the need, with the help of the configurations, I turn them on and off.

the fact that the "containers" are something that, under normal conditions, is not part of the standard group it is also evident from the fact that when weighting the complete machine all containers are ignored.

Then obviously the possibility, even if not direct, to "find" all the containers and export them in step format etc, is enough to put the filter in the search.

Can you explain what these "containers" are? I use 17.0, do you mean groups?
hi, no containers (which can be found in the same group menu) are "special groups" that have practically the same characteristics of the group, but that do not appear at default videos and if set in a certain way do not appear in separate, the latter in my opinion is the main and best feature of this tool.

Yes, exactly. for example I used them profitably in two cases:

1) in a set, I inserted in a container a 2d geometry that I used as a reference to build the axieme. In this case I exploited the fact that by default it does not appear to video, not to unnecessarily weigh the display of the assembly.

2) in a cinematism, I inserted into a container the shared members of the moving parts represented at the end of the race, while outside the container I represented the same members at the beginning of the race. In this way I can see both positions in the table (the end-of-the-race parts, possibly in thin line), but the parts in the container are not considered separate in the total weight.

thanks for the explanations! I tried to use them and understood the operation, but I think I have different settings, because I see all parts drawing. for now I prefer so, I like that they don't appear in the bom.

I didn't realize if you see the containers in 3d environment or do you appear when you go drawing in annotation?
in case you see them in the 3d depends if the container is inside another group or not, if it does not have a parent group then you always see it, unless you turn it off, as if it were a normal group, if instead it is inside a group you should see it only the first time you create it, then by default it is turned off, that is every time you load the group, it is loaded with the container turned off, and only every time
in the 2d instead of default the containers are turned off however there are the management buttons parts "agg. conten." and "rim. conten."
