convert selection to block

if memory does not deceive me, time ago I used a command to convert the selected entities into block without having to erase the starting entities and without having to re-inserire: in practice created a block "on site".
Unfortunately in recent times I have used a lot of inventor and little autocad, and I do not remember if it was a command (magari of express tools) or a lisp... Any ideas or did I dream of it?

entities do not disappear; difference with the lisp or with what I may not understand from your question?

I don't know what versions you used, however, at least since 2010, the block command lets you choose whether to create the block the selected entities must be transformed into a block, they must remain (and then enter the block) or if they have to create the block and delete the entities.

if you do not care about the insertion point, very quickly a ctrl+c (ctrl+x if you want to delete) followed by ctrl+shift+v creates the block and inserts it.

azz... only 8 versions have passed:biggrin: and I discovered something new!!!! or maybe I knew her but I "removed" her not often using her... I normally go copy and paste, possibly changing name after, or with mblocco to export it... I admit that the "pure" block command I always used it little...
